OAC Recommender Grants for Theatre Creators

Necessary Angel is proud to be a recommender for OAC Recommender Grant Program. This is a third party recommender program to assist theatre creators in the development of new work. Please see arts.on.ca/grants/recommender-grants-for-theatre-creators for more information on the program and how to apply.
In addition to the questions and CV requested in Nova, we ask each applicant to submit a script sample of a 5 pages maximum length (for text-based work) or up to a 5 minute AV sample for work that is not text based.
We encourage applicants to familiarize themselves with our work through our website and production history. We will assess applications using the values articulated in our mission statement and will prioritize the support of:
Artists exploring the shifting nature of connection and identity through theatre.
Artists/art which asks the question: who are we now?
Artists exploring the human condition through their work.
work and stories led by artists who are from IBPOC groups, are living with a disability, are under the age of 30.
Artists whose work are not already supported by our other programs.
Artists whose work aligns with our company values.
